Oscar, as per our brief discussion, here is want I have in my mind. 

Under the Task menu: logged in user should

> see a notification icon if there is any update for him/her. 

> all the task should line up from Top to bottom according to their last update time, for any reason; a new comment, % change etc. 

> the task list should be splited in two parts, 1> In prgress 2> Completed

I hope you understood the requirement here.

    As you can see it was initially assigned to Oscar to get it done, but he failed to do so for various reasons. 

    Dont be scared, I know your not dev, I am assigning you so that you can get this and the other task I assigned to you DONE by the dev. one after another.
