Hello all,

We've all seen a significant increase in abroad-going tendency among the Bangladeshi people, which is impacting our company's ability to retain staff as well. To address this challenge, I propose we develop a set of guidelines or tactics for the hiring process to improve retention rates.

Here are some initial ideas to spark discussion and help us find effective solutions:

1. Hiring Diploma/ graduation dropped-out students - like Marcus who have skills but less opportunity to move around or abroad

2. Internship to a job - but it also may be affected by the abroad going tendency.

I am looking forward to your participation on this in sorting out an effective solution to ensure the retention ratio at SI.

HI All,

we have had a similar disucssion on this last year when i was in BD.

it looks like even the married guys are being affected this time.

so we need to RE THINK our staff PROFILE and focus on hiring people with the highest probability of sticking to the job.

as always our moto has been to provide opportunities to the needy mainly, those who couldnt get good oppotunities due to difficult lives, poor backgrounds etc.
however this comes with the issue that they also are less edcuated.

Now that we are back to a small size... i see this as an OPPORTUNITY to re-plan our hiring for stable future growth.

Possibly thinking mainly around "internships / trainee programme / people without degrees but have diplomas, other certifications etc"
and taking these people and training them up.....

let discuss some ideas, possible solutions, possible issues, etc... until we have come to a formula that tells us "WHAT KIND OF STAFF WE WILL HIRE GOING FORWARD".
