Touching on this topic again... during my visit i couldnt see any problems with teh current chairs we have.

it is clearly a matter of sitting properly or improperly.

what we can do is perhaps get some backrests for all the chairs which i noticed some people already got for themselves. so anyone who like to use one can use it.

one secret i will share wiht everyone.... its usually not the chair that is the problem.. it is the body poisture of people.

i have tried and changed my chair many times until i realised its not the chair, its how i am sitting that is causing me back pains. :-).

so if the chairs have good cushion etc... then most likely its people sitting badly.

cool we will defintely do some upgrade... lets this busy period calm down and we will certainly look at this.

@Alan - last time i delegated this to you, to use karim to do some resaerch in local market.

could you get this happeing please and report back when you can wiht a summary of your findings.

reporting back basically means, PICTURE of possible chairs we can consider + COST.

We need to work  for a long time which is causing back pain.

A few staffs were requesting(old staffs) me on this from couple of weeks.

Even its causing severe back pain to me as well😔

Agreed, Steve. We will look into the local market too. However, from my experience, I have seen that the local market is Sylhet doesn't have many options to choose from, you will see the same types of chairs in every shop. And they also bring this from Dhaka and usually, the cost here is higher. However, we can always compare and decide on the best ones.

There are some dedicated chair shops in Naiorpul,Sylhet(beside Anurag Hotel). Lets ask Karim to physically visit the stores and have a look at the chairs, chair quality and pricing. As shop location is near our office. After that we can decide if we should buy from online or phycal store.

Though i purchased from online, i was looking for some specific features like headrest, adjustable handle etc. But for office we are looking basic chairs which we might find in physical local stores. So its better to check local stores first and then look into online shops.

I think the below three will be a good fit for us. These have metal legs which will last longer. We can choose any one of them, there are similar qualities with different shapes.

Recently i purchased a office chair for myself. I did some research before buying. I went to physical stores in sylhet but didnt find any chair that is cost effective. Most of the chairs i saw priced more then 10K.

So i looked into Daraz. Found this store whose pricing is very good.

I purchased a chair worth 6.6K but same model chairs are more then 10K in the market.

The chair i purchased is good. Strong, wheels are smooth, Lightweight. They also provide 1 year limited Warrenty.

So check the store in Daraz. You might find good chairs there.

ok so lets start working on this to progressivley replace chairs in teh office.

Lets follow these steps:

1. propose 3 chair models to me to consider, explaning why it is chosen and the cost, and expected durability

2. once approved from me, depending on the available cash flow, each month start replacing some chairs until all existing staff 

3. we don't need to replace every chair in the office, since we have many empty seats.

Most of this activity can be delegated to Karim.

Yes, that's true. We need to upgrade our office chair. I agree with Ross moving chairs will be more comfortable to reduce health issues.

I also  agree with this. Sitting in these chairs for long periods can cause several health risks for our employees - like back pain, especially those who have been with us for a long time. Therefore, I strongly support Ross's suggestion to gradually replace the chairs.

Yes, I too agree that our chairs should be upgraded to provide more comfort to people as we all have to sit long time on the chairs. I think the moving chairs are better for comfort, we can probably get them between 3.5-4k each. 

When we have the budget, we can start with a few and gradually replace the old ones over time. We should be able to sell the existing ones and get some money back.
